A urologist is a physician who has specialized knowledge of the male and female urinary tract, kidney and bladder, and the male reproductive organs. Urology is a surgical subspecialty, and, because of the variety of problems that urologists treat, they have extensive knowledge in the fields of internal medicine and gynecology.
